Abstract: The cell line of a caudal fin from koi (Cyprinus c arpio) was established in this study. The detection of the chromosome number, karyotype and DNA content demonstrates that there were no significant differences between the somatic cells and the culture cells; that the chromosome number and the DNA content were in accordance with the proportionate relationship. The established cell line of the koi' s caudal tail fin named as KF-H had the stable heredity.
